A Voice Evacuation system is linked to the buildings fire alarm panel. In the event of an emergency, the fire alarm triggers the Voice Evacation system to broadcast pre-recorded messages throughout the building. These messages will override any other inputs to the Voice Evacuation system; these may include paging microphones and background music.
When the fire crews reach the incident they are able to take control by using the designated fire microphone. This is the only input to the Voice Evacuation system that can override the pre-recorded messages, allowing the fire crews to provide specific emergency instructions to the occupants of the building.
